Profile
Fatima Iftikhar is a textile designer turned educator and researcher living in the rich city of Lahore in Pakistan. Having completed her M.Phil. in Art and Design Education from the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design in Lahore, Pakistan, she went on to work with textile design students in her alma mater while pursuing her creative endeavours.

Her research has its roots in my ever-growing fascination with the dialogue between body and space and how their conversation presents opportunities to explore and experience, be it in design, education, or beyond.
She started the exploration of body and space dialogue in her undergraduate thesis, managing to later let it seep into her teaching practices. As an educator, her core interest lies in experiential learning, design thinking, and exploring the potential of everyday experiences, interactions, and endeavours to influence and help construct our identity, helping shape one's way of thinking and approaching their surroundings in multiple folds.
Keeping her inspirations in check, Iftikhar is currently leading her way through her PhD in Education at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. Her work centres on examining how urban environments can shape critical thinking, foster design ideation, enhance problem-solving skills, and impact various other aspects of teaching and learning practices.
